My Brother

今日はフィヨルドに行くの？
父は窓の外を見る。
しばらくパンを噛む。
いや、と父は言う。
あたしは椅子から飛び降りる。
でも、風は吹いてなし、フィヨルドは穏やかだよ。
わかった、と父はため息をつきました。少し出かけよう、と。
あの夢のことは父に話したくない。
父はもうフィヨルドがあまり好きではない。
釣り竿を持っていかなくちゃ、とあたしは言った。
父はうなずいた

父はフィヨルドのずっと沖へ漕ぎ出してくれた。
父は昔は釣りをしていたのだ。
今はただ座っているだけ。
釣りをしないの？
あたしは竿を差し出した。
父は釣り糸を解き、釣り針と錘を下ろした。
あたしは船べりに身を乗り出して見ていました。
「すわりなさい！」と父は言いいました。
父はあたしが落ちてしまうのではないかと、とても心配しているのです。
時々、落ちてみたい、そこに行きたいと思う。

兄弟を亡くした少女とその父親。
少女の父親がフィヨルドで釣りをしているとき、亡魂として現れた兄を釣り上げます。
幻想で象徴的な兄の「訪問」を通じて、少女と父親はそれぞれ異なる形で悲しみを向き合っていきます。
