Penyasが自身の祖母2人（母方: Maruja、父方: Herminia）と対話した実体験から生まれた物語です。
祖母たちはスペインの小さな町で一人暮らしをし、家族から十分なケアを受けていない日常を送っていましたが、Penyasの訪問を通じて、彼女たちの人生がフランコ時代（1939-1975）の抑圧と民主化の変革を体現していることが明らかになっていきます。

祖母たちは「いつも元気よ」と言いながら家族の「脇役」として生きた世代を象徴します。Penyasはこれを「小さな感謝」として、祖母たちを主人公として描いています。

スペインの現代史、特にフランコ独裁時代と民主化初期の女性の日常を、作者の祖母たちの実話に基づいて描いた感傷的でフェミニスト的なトリビュートです。
