森の開拓地に住むちいさな女の子。
そこで彼女は大きなバイソンと出会います。バイソンとは、肩が大きく隆起をしていて、頭から肩にかけて長い体毛に覆われ、頭部に短い角が生えている大きな牛。
バイソンと女の子は毎年冬に出会い、そして春に別れます。
そうやって長い年月が過ぎていき、お互いに時間を共有していくのです。

厳しい自然環境と、そんな中でも育まれる二つの生命を、美しく描いているのです。
