魅力的な挿絵で彩られた五十話が収録されています。

肌の色で人を区別する法律があった１９６０年代はじめのアメリカで、肌の色のちがう赤ちゃんたちを、はじめていっしょに登場させました。
「差別のない世界を想像して欲しい」という夢があったからです。
どちらの人種をひいきするとかではなく、同じ目線でみんなが生き生きとしている姿は、どの絵本でも一貫しています。
キャラクターたちが、どれも魅力的なのは、愛情深い彼女の想いが表現されているのかもしれません。

日本語訳が出ていないのが残念です。
