My Window

『My Window』は、ホックニーが2009年から2012年にかけて制作したデジタル作品をまとめたものです。
彼は2009年春にiPhoneを、2010年からはiPadを芸術的ツールとして使い始めました。
これにより、従来の絵画技法では難しかった光や色の微妙な表現を、デジタルデバイス上で直接描くことが可能になりました。
ヨークシャーの自宅の窓から見える風景をテーマに、日の出、朝の淡い紫の空、夜の静かな情景、春の訪れなど、時間の経過や季節の変化を捉えた作品が収められています。

ホックニーはこのプロジェクトについて、「外の世界を眺める喜びとポジティブなエネルギーを感じる」と述べており、視覚を通じて世界をどのように捉えるかを探求しています。
窓という限られたフレームを通して、日常の瞬間を詩的かつ鮮やかに描き出しています。

デイヴィッド・ホックニー（1937年7月9日生まれ）は、英国ポップアート運動の中心的存在として1960年代に登場し、ロサンゼルスでのプールシリーズなどで知られる画家、版画家、舞台デザイナー、写真家です。
彼は常に新しい技術を取り入れ、ポラロイド、ファックスマシン、デジタルビデオ、iPhone/iPadなどを使って芸術を進化させてきました。
『My Window』は、デジタル技術を活用した彼の後期の代表作であり、伝統的な絵画の枠を超えた表現の可能性を示しています。彼が82歳の時点でも新しい技術に挑戦し続ける情熱を反映しています。
