My City

マックスは今日、一人で郵便ポストに手紙を届けます。
街を抜けると、賑やかな通りに太陽の影が落ち、水たまりに映る自分の姿や、ランドリーの乾燥機の中で回っている色とりどりの洋服、ゴミ捨て場に捨てられた壊れた楽器たち、風に揺れる落ち葉など、様々なものが見えてきます。

都市の中を歩いていくマックスの目にさまざまなものが飛び込んできます。
日常の中の小さな驚きや美しさに、マックスは好奇心いっぱいです。

ジョアン・リウは香港を拠点とするイラストレーターです。
「My City」は彼女の2作目の絵本です。1作目の「My Museum」は、2018年のボローニャ・ラガッツィ賞で特別賞を受賞しました。

Description
Max is asked to mail a letter for his mother. As he walks through his neighborhood in search of a mailbox, he encounters all sorts of interesting things like falling leaves dancing in the wind, skyscrapers towering in the distance, and junk being piled into a garbage truck. All around him adults hurry on their various errands, too busy to appreciate these wondrous details.
