1955年3月29日、ニューヨーク市生まれのトム・スローター（1955年 - 2014年）は、大胆で鮮やかな絵画や版画で知られるアメリカ人アーティストです。
明るい原色と力強い線が特徴的なスローターの作品は、ファインアートと商業デザインが融合した魅力的な作品を描きます。
スローターはニューヨーク市とコネチカット州ウェストポートで育ち、コネチカット大学で美術史を専攻しました。
1981年にソーホーのロフトに移り住み、その後生涯をそこで過ごしました。彼の作品はニューヨーク近代美術館（MOMA）とホイットニー美術館の永久コレクションに収蔵されています。
Slaughterの作品は、大胆な色彩、純粋な色面、グラフィックな線描を特徴とし、現代の都市生活や日常の情景を簡潔かつ活気ある形で表現しています。
Roy Lichtenstein、Andy Warhol、Alexander Calderなどの影響を受け、ファインアートと商業デザインの境界を曖昧にするスタイルが顕著です。
