ウクライナの民話をもとにした物語です。
雪のように真っ白なミトンを欲しがった男の子のニッキー。
おばあちゃんが編んでくれたミトンをはめて雪遊びに出かけますが、すぐに片方を落としてしまいます。
ニッキーが気づかずに歩き続ける中、森の動物たちが次々とそのミトンを見つけ、中に入っていきます。

最初は小さなモグラ、次にウサギ、アナグマ…と、どんどん大きな動物が、小さなミトンに入っていきます。

ミトンはどんどんパンパンに膨らんでいきます。
最後はどうなってしまうのでしょう？！

ニッキーが気づかないままの出来事が、ページの脇で同時に描かれているのが魅力です。
