遠い遠い村。
大きなぶなの木の下に、小さな森の妖精エルフたちが隠れるように住んでいました。
とても明るい日差しが差し込む朝、村のコックのオリバーはベリーを摘んでいました。
すると空から海鳥のスカイが挨拶をするために降りてきました。
「スカイ、きみは何ヶ月もどこに行っていたんだい？」オリバーはたずねました。
「とても大きくて、青くて美しい海を飛んできたのさ！」スカイはこたえました。
「ぼくは今まで、海を見たことがないんだ」オリバーは悲しそうに言いました。
「それなら海につれていってあげるよ」スカイは言いました。

オリバーはほかのエルフたちにも、一緒に来ないかと聞くために、村に走って戻りました。
