彼女のデザインは、シュルレアリスムや前衛的なスタイルで知られ、特に「ショッキング・ピンク」という鮮やかなピンク色が有名です。
また、サルバドール・ダリやジャン・コクトーといった著名な芸術家とのコラボレーションも行いました。

スキャパレッリは、ココ・シャネルと並んで、第二次世界大戦前後のヨーロッパファッション界を代表する人物の一人とされています。
