あるところに、しま模様のトラの子どもがいました。
頭のてっぺんから尻尾の先まで、美しい黒と金のしま模様でした。
お母さんとお父さん、それに兄弟たちと一緒にジャングルの洞窟に住んでいました。みんな素敵なしま模様でした。

ある暖かい日、小さなトラは昼寝から目覚め、爪を伸ばし、あごを伸ばし、体を伸ばしました。
「お腹が空いたなー。ジャングルに行って何か食べるものを捕まえよう」
それで、家族全員が寝ている間に、小さなトラは一人で大きな緑のジャングルへ出かけました。

ジャングルの別の場所にある別の洞窟には、斑点のあるヒョウの子どもが住んでいました。
頭からつま先まで美しい丸い黒い斑点が点在していました。お母さんとお父さん、それに兄弟たちと一緒に暮らしていました。みんなすてきな斑点がたくさんありました。

トラの子どもとヒョウの子どもは、食べ物をさがしにジャングルに入り、ばったりと出会います。
意気投合した二頭は、いっしょにジャングルの中で食べ物を探し始めます。
